Biography

Visual artist Meri Peura was born in Tampere, Finland in 1981. Peura studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 2006–2011, both in the Department of Printmaking and in the Department of Sculpture. Since 2006 Peura has had solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad e.g. in Germany and Spain. Peura works mainly with sculpture and video installations. In her works she often focuses on examining the nature of human being as well as the questions how people change the living environment or how far people may go while looking for one`s happiness. 

Peura lives and works in Janakkala, Finland.
